OCEAN GATE ELEMENTARY HONORED AS BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL

Ocean Gate Elementary is named a 2010 Blue Ribbon school by the US Department of Education.

The award honors public and private elementary, middle and high schools whose students achieve at very high levels and helped close gaps in achievement.

The school only has 156 students from pre-school through sixth grade but they're the only ones from Ocean County to be named and one of 10 from New Jersey to make the list.

There are 254 public and 50 private schools nationwide that will be honored at an awards ceremony on November 15th in Washington.
