Physical Education

The Physical Education Program at Ocean Gate Elementary School is run by Mrs. Colling. All of the students enrolled in the school get to have physical education at least once a week. We love to play games and run around on the new playing field!
Please make sure that students are wearing sneakers on the appropriate day so they can safely participate in our physical activities.
The Third through Sixth graders also participate in the President’s Physical Fitness Challenge, which is a government supported program that encourages fitness in several areas of physical ability. The students are asked to perform five skills challenges twice a year and our goal is to have everyone improve in at least one area of fitness between the Fall and the Spring.
Please click on the link below for more information about this fun and challenging program.
The highlight
of the year for the Physical Education Program is Field Day,
which will be held on June 18, 2008. This is a time when all of
the students get to come outside and work as a “Class Team” to
do their best at a variety of unusual events that are based on
the skills we learned throughout the year.
We encourage parents to come out and watch as their children participate in a tug-o-war, a chicken toss and other silly games! We hope to have a lot of fun!!
