As the holiday season begins, we remember our friend and colleague, Officer Jason Marles. Jay lost his life to a drunk driver on Thanksgiving Eve 2010. Please wear blue tomorrow, on Tuesday, November 25th in honor of Officer Marles.

Patrolman Jason Marles had just completed a drunk driving overtime detail to ensure the streets of Ocean Gate remained safe. As Patrolman Marles headed home to his wife and children, he was struck by a drunk driver on the Garden State Parkway. A friend, a father, and husband was taken from us that day as Patrolman Marles succumbed to his injuries from the crash.

Forever in our hearts

Gator Nation- Please take a look at the upcoming Halloween Events that we have going on in Ocean Gate and pay special attention to our Halloween Dance this upcoming Thursday night, and messaging for our Halloween Parade that will take place next Friday, the 31st.

All Gator parents/ guardians are welcome to attend the Gator Halloween parade starting at 1:45pm on Friday, October 31st. Please remember to refrain from having your child wear anything that could obstruct their vision (masks) or bringing in “weapon-like” objects or toys to school. Full costumes (including masks, no weapons) can be worn during the parade. Please apply hairspray and/or makeup at home before the school day.

The Halloween Parade will go around the building twice, we will take some class pictures in front of the Ocean Gate School sign, and then head back into school. Parents & Guardians who are in attendance will be allowed to sign their child out from the main office immediately following the parade festivities. The parent/ guardian picking up must be listed and approved in our Realtime System or we will need a note. Thank you!

This year, we will be showing 'Coraline'! The cost per person is just $5, and there will be candy, chips, popcorn, and drinks for sale, as well as a slushy maker. Anyone under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. The movie night should end around 8:30 that evening. All proceeds benefit the CRHS Spirit Club!

Tomorrow is the last day of our Respect Week theme days. It is also our first early dismissal day of the year! Please be there promptly at 12:50 pm to pick up your child since we do have professional development for the teachers starting immediately after school. Please check out our Bell Schedule section of the website for a complete list of times. It is also Pajama Day and with no outdoor recess due to the early dismissal, I told the students that if they do not have Physical Education class they are allowed to wear their slides for the day. Please no indoor footwear like slippers since the students will still be moving around the building. Pre K will still have their gross motor periods so please have them wear sneakers. There is also no school on Monday so we will see you on Tuesday, the 14th!
